What is chiropractic treatment?

Chiropractic promotes the body’s innate ability to heal itself via the nervous system through the reduction of vertebral subluxation complexes. Vertebral subluxation complexes are lesions of motion within any joint in the body, especially the spine. A force, called an adjustment, is applied to specific areas on vertebrae and bones of the extremities to allow the spine and extremities to move normally. This aims to restore neural integrity in the body by changing the sensory input to the nervous system. Chiropractic tries to move the body back into its homeostatic state to promote health. A chiropractic adjustment only puts joints in the body through their normal range of motion. Chiropractic evaluates the movement of the spine and extra-spinal bones as they pertain to affecting the nervous system. In conclusion, chiropractic removes any interference to the nervous system which in turn promotes the body to function properly.
